SED (Scene Edit Detection) Panel is an Adobe After Effects extension that automatically detects scene cuts directly inside your AE timeline. No more scrubbing through footage manually — every scene appears as a clickable thumbnail grid.
From v1.0 to v3.2, the panel has evolved with features like multi-layer marker reading, per-layer thumbnails, merge scene for already-split layers, and full compatibility from AE CS6 to AE 2026.
HOW IT WORKS
- Select a footage layer in your AE timeline
- Click Detect Scenes — the panel automatically finds every cut point
- Each scene appears as a card in the thumbnail grid with IN/OUT timecodes
- Click a card to preview, double-click to toggle a mark
- Use Cut Selected to split the layer at your marked points
- Or Export to Render Queue to render selected scenes directly
